John Knox Community Events
Secret Christmas Corner
Saturday, December 6th
9:00 AM - Noon
This event is a beloved tradition in our church and our community. New and gently used items are collected throughout the year so children can come purchase gifts for their parents, siblings and friends - all for $2 (and under) each. Kids make their shopping list, an elf helper helps them shop, then they pay for their items themselves. Next, they take their items to our gift wrap room where volunteers wrap the presents beautifully so the gifts are ready to go right under the tree when they get home! Crafts, cookies, coco and a visit with Santa are also special parts of the day!
It takes a lot of hands to make this special day work, so if you would like to volunteer, please click this link!
🎷🎹Music in the Courtyard
As we look for ways to engage with our community, we have recognized a beautiful asset that we have begun to share with others...our courtyard! We hosted 3 Music in the Courtyard evening events and look forward to hosting more next Spring when the weather warms again. This flyer is from our last event - the others will be similar.
Summer Camps
Our Preschool offers a half day camp for ages 4 & 5. CASA offers a full day camp for rising 1st-5th graders. Rising Kindergarteners can participate in a "hybrid" camp, attending Preschool camp in the morning and CASA camp in the afternoon. Click below for 2025 camp details. 2026 Rates & Dates will be published at the end of February.
Vacation Bible School
Our Vacation Bible School is a part of our summer camp, but is also open to the public for kids rising 1st-5th grades. Our theme and dates for this summer will be confirmed soon! There is no charge for VBS, however donations are always appreciated.
Marietta Pumpkin Patch - See you next year!!
Our second year to offer a pumpkin patch to our community was another great success. We had lots of beautiful colors, shapes and sizes of pumpkins and gourds! This year we had 9 basket give-aways and bake sales every Sunday!! Please tag us with your Pumpkin Pics @jkpcmarietta If you are interested in volunteering next year, visit this site next October 1!
Thanksgiving Food Boxes
In partnership with the Social Workers of our area elementary schools, we collect food and fill boxes for 40-45 specific families identified as in need. Food items are for the whole week that schools are closed, plus some special items for a Thanksgiving meal.
